Synthetic Infiltration:

I seek to bring care into carelessness and mindfulness into mindlessness.

My effort is a tiny speck of dust in the vast spread of our plastic planet,

but to not fight at all is to lose completely.

With this body of work I explores our relationship to plastic. While making the work I considered questions like, what do we consider waste? Why do we consider it waste? Is it waste? How can we prevent wastefulness? I found the mimicry of biological forms within the work intriguing, as plastic is slowly supplanting biological life in the oceans.

This is my first step toward becoming a less wasteful artist. I am excited to broaden this small beginning.
